Driving to the store last week, we spotted a..... Camel! Yep! Just hanging out behide a traveling circus! Miniature horses, goats and a camel... Who knew?
Of course with Savannah, bugs are free fun! She discovered the first caterpillar of the season on our back porch one day while I was in the kitchen and Rylan was sleeping. No fear. Just grabbed it and let it crawl all over... Poor caterpillar.
And what do caterpillars turn into? Yep, giant moths (in this case). We found this guy on the side of the house drying in the morning sun. He had just exited his coccoon and we watched as he warmed up his wings and eventually flew away. He was about 3 inches tall! Very cool!
And I can't tell you how many times we have tried to point one of these blimps out while driving in or near Charlotte but those suckers are hard to see from the car.... UNLESS you find them in their secret sleeping place out in Gastonia!!! WHOA! HUGE!

That blimp WAS cool. Nathan says they are in town to fly over the White Water center for the olympic trials. :o)
